So since the by-line of this blog starts out with “pints and cigars” I feel I should at least say something about it. So I’ll start by mentioning some of my favorite of each.
My all-time favorite beer has to be Guinness. As a proud Irishman, how could it be anything else? I love all sorts of beer, craft and otherwise, but there is something about Guinness that no other beer can replicate. There is something romantic about a pint of Guinness. Nothing goes better with live Irish music and the craic as a good pint.
Proof:
As for my favorite cigar, that would have to be the H. Upmann Petite Corona. I have to first state that I am by no means a cigar aficionado, I just enjoy a good smoke every now and then. I got into cigars about 3 years ago. Before then I had never really cared for them. I think this was because all I ever had was my buddy’s dad’s cheap, stale cigars. So when I had my first Havana (Cuban), I was surprised that I actually liked it. So I decided since I only smoke occasionally, I’ll only smoke good cigars. I discoved the H. Upmann simply because I read it was JFK’s favorite. I like it because it is a mild smoke and since it’s a bit smaller, it doesn’t take all night to finish.

Going forward with this blog, I will likely alternate content between serious posts like the one on the Sermon on the Mount, and more laid back ones like this. As time goes on I may branch into social media as well, but we’ll see how things go.
